Commercial Vehicle Processing Centre (CVPC)

The Commercial Vehicle Processing Centre (CVPC) was set up to reduce the heavy congestion on the Peace Bridge. Commercial carriers can save time by having their U.S. Customs paperwork processed before the freight arrives at the border. Unprepared drivers are diverted to the CVPC staging area (located in Fort Erie, Ontario). Their paperwork is then faxed to the U.S. customs broker for clearance. This often results in lengthy delays.

Cataract Customhouse Brokerage helps to expedite your clearance through the Peace Bridge via the Pre-Arrival Processing System (PAPS). For eligible carriers, Cataract will supply barcode labels and pre-clear your freight before you get to the border. Drivers with PAPS paperwork are allowed to proceed directly across the Peace Bridge. U.S. Customs will then scan the barcode. Unless they are chosen for random inspection, drivers may then proceed directly into the United States without delay.
